Inkline ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that changes the look of text you type by swapping letters for Unicode characters (for example, 𝐁 for B). It is made by MD Ashraful Islam.
| Data | Where it is handled | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The Gmail subject text you choose to style | In your browser, on your device, only when you click a style | To replace it with the styled version |
| The text you select in a text box on another site | In your browser, on your device, only after you pick a style from the right-click menu | To replace it with the styled version |
| The text you type in the toolbar popup | In the popup, on your device | To show the styled previews and copy the one you click |
Inkline does not save any of this text. It is not written to storage, not logged and not kept after the change is made.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
Access to mail.google.com | Shows the style button in the subject field of the Gmail compose window |
contextMenus | Adds "Inkline style" to the right-click menu of text boxes |
activeTab and scripting | Let Inkline restyle the text box you right-clicked, on that tab only, after you choose a style |
Inkline keeps no data, so there is nothing to delete. Removing the extension removes it completely.
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new date.
